Ain't no sunshine when it's gone

he greatest of the sunshines are behind us here in the rainy islands and soon the browns of Autumn will start painting the rolling hills outside my window. So while Summer still holds sway over our hearts, we are taking a little break in the town of HidenSeek. Some festivites are to be expected if we manage to wake the townsfolk up, who have indicated that they will be sleeping 23 hours per day.

This Summer has been exceptionally productive and the fruits of my labour will be ripe for the picking at around October, reports say. Until then, i'm off to find a miniature umbrela for my coctail.

Monochrome to Polychrome

n the colourful chaos of the last few years, many of my ideas have been left behind in black and white. I have quite a few artworks in various states of unfinished-ness and it breaks my heart to see the black and grey pencil lines on white paper... alone and lonely scribbles begging for a finishing touch.

"Grrrrrrrrooooooaaaaarrrrlrlrrrlrrrr" - says Mr Bear. A loose translation of his wise words would be "Well i say, old chap, we can have no more of this sort of thing!"

So i'm on a mission of completeness, a mission of finished-ness, a mission of colour and bright brush strokes. I can't make myself move forward with so many ideas that i love still waiting in out-of-fashion black and white. Colour is the new black... (worst pun ever). :)

Even the latest piece "Speak no evil, Hear no evil, See no evil" had been waiting in monochrome drabness for more than half a year. Whatever else could i find in my old sketchbooks, i'm not even sure i know, but it's time to tie up some loose ends. And i have a bucket of colour that is just right for the job.

We haven't shared up until now, ...yes yes, as i said surprises, but almost a year after their launch, our loved Hide n Seek jewelry line has travelled far and wide across the world and the packaging is hardly a surprise anymore.

So here it is! For those that have it or those that will or just the very curious ones :)

Yes,  it's a fairytale book i painstakingly designed until it looked like the real thing! It's called: Tales of The Travelling Bear. It comes tied with a string and sealed with a wax seal to make it even more special for you to open! 

All our jewelry is uniquely packed in little hand-made teabags, i've shared them here for you to see, so you open a fairytale book to find a little teabag, a bit like experiencing a nice relaxed evening of book-time and tea! but i'll leave all the rest of the details out for when you have one in your hands, it's great fun to open! :)

 

So indeed, it is Mr Bear that is bringing your jewels to you afterall! Mr Bear is renowned for his liking of surprises so he has been travelling all around the world in absolute secrecy, carrying your jewelry with him and bringing them to you all along.

So next time honey goes missing in your kitchen, you find scratches on your back wooden porch and the lawn of your garden has huge, strange looking flat patches from place to place, {especially under the shade of trees} you'll know that Mr Bear was around delivering little treasures for your heart!
