War of the Roses

t is with great pleasure that i am presenting you the launch of my new art collection "War of the Roses". Many months in the making, i have poured my heart over each line and stroke and i come to you like a proud parent at a graduation ceremony. :) Some pieces are reimagined glorious images of the past i grew up admiring, a homage to my childhood heroes. Others are fresh fruits of my escapistic 17th century heart striving to fulfil my super-modern 21st century mind. The journey is centred around one of my most adored eras of art, the Dutch Golden Age, yet there is much more of what i love -- the tempestuous Middle Ages, breathtaking Art Nouveau, the ageless ukiyo-e from the land of the Rising Sun, and so many more whispers of my heart.

War has broken out in the world of Hide n Seek. None of these girls will accept their traditional roles of submission and servitude. They have weapons to wield, battles to fight and secrets to hide. With no further ado, Ladies and Lords, Hide n Seek proudly presents: "War of the Roses".

I must truly resist writing a full page about each piece, there is so much to say, every stroke has a purpose and it seems to me like each artwork has a hundred years of history behind it. I prefer to let you feel and experience first for yourself and would love to hear what your heart whispers to you.

Rekindled

he Wonderful Week of Wonders ended somewhat unceremoniously and a bit preemptively. Life moves in mysterious ways and so does creativity and there is no force of nature strong enough to force an art piece being finished. Even if it is just two brush strokes away from completion. If you create any sort of art in your life, i'm sure you know the feeling. :) Surprisingly, a feverish flu got all my creativity rekindled and even burning hotter than the fever! You may know this feeling too. ;)

So with a few weeks' delay, the Wonderful Week of Wonders will reach it's peak today, with the launching of my new art collection. It is six artworks strong, in the works for almost as many months and will be looking for a place in your heart later today. :) What is it about? What does it look like? What is it called?
