...continued from Daddy, look what Santa brought me for Christmas...
had to make some tough decisions
because even when I asked for the help (i.e. bribed with promises of
food) my dear partner, we could still not cope with sending orders
out. I absolutely didn't want to make compromises but I had to
sacrifice some things to save the rest so the first thing I did was
cut communication with the outside world! That meant no answering of
mails and and no sending of thanking mails to customers! I thought
that everyone would rather get their goodies in time for the holidays
than read my ramblings! That certainly created some problems but I
managed to mail everyone and solve everything during my break in the
end. Oh, the 12 hour long mail writing sessions! How I miss them! ..... *not* :D
Sacrifice No2 was easier to do 'cause it just cost only me in promotion. I stopped making and sending my little portlette business cards that were *quite* time consuming to make. And they're not coming back. Poor little portlettes, may you rest in peace. Anyone willing to write an "Ode to an abandoned design" feel free! :D At the moment no business cards of mine are travelling around the world. The new design is simpler but as cute and is coming very soon. There are also some really, really, really wild ideas I have for business cards but we'll see how they go as time goes by. But for now.... bye bye hand-crafted business cards... you will be missed...
The things that I didn't want to sacrifice and managed to were the pretty packaging and the handwritten message to my sweet playmates! I knew these two things, time consuming as they were, were precious to me and I hope precious to many of you too. So I managed to preserve them with mainly the above two sacrifices and I could just about make it in sending out orders though my ambitious 48 hour dispatch went down the drain and it changed to about 5 days. Almost everything went out in time for the holidays and it was all worth it :)
Many and BIG changes have occurred here in my little hideout of a business for which i'm gonna talk about in my next post and i'm extra excited about !! My creativity suffocated abit with all the difficulties and unexpected phenomena in my life but this hybernating and sleepy period is done done done and i'm all back into drawing and creating all day long! So new artworks n other curious things very soon too :)
