November has been the month of many new goodies debuting for Hide n Seek which always fills me with oodles of excitement! 

Mr Spiffy, the mayor of the Hide n Seek Town has been happilly reporting that his talks and collaboration with the Lamarelle folks (yes, i've talked about them before ;) have been very fruitful lately.

The Hide n Seek and Lamarelle industrious gnomes have been sweating and toiling over fire and melted iron,  hammering , sawing, cutting and sticking their way into a new stationery line that i'm super happy to share with you today!

I'm a bit excited about all this! And when i say "a bit" i mean "i have fainted five times from hyperventilation". :D I put a lot of love into these pretties and now they are already travelling to lovely customers like yourself! I will leave the creation process for another post, but in short, these jewellery are all 3d printed, much like my art prints are 2d printed, but in 3d! What does that mean? Well, it certainly includes a very ancient old wizard with a white beard and a pointy hat waving his gnarled oaken staff and speaking unfathomable incantations! That is scientific fact!

They say you keep us and the mountain safe

All the old folks of the Northen '8 Houses and 1 Tower' Village overlooking the great-green sea of pines and claiming for their own a considerable chunk of bright blue sky, all swear that if it wasn't for the revered old Bear spirit guardian that overlooks and safeguards since times unknown, their small but dearly loved village would be at least half in size. And all unanimously agree that '4 Houses and 1/2 a Tower' sounds pretty bad for any Village name.

But it is not as they think.... actually, not at all. Nobody dares to ask the mountain Bear after all, those old folks are a timid and scared bunch, always has been.

But this girl.... hmm.. this girl is of another kind. She's been getting raised eyebrows and hushed voices all her life. Bold, daring, untamed the folks always would say and scorn their faces under their bushy moustaches, both men and women.

Taking the long road up the mountain was not a challenge for her, an adventure maybe. She walked tirelessly and when the sun was reigning high, she made it on the mountain slope. Her presence did not go unnoticed, after all she defiantly wore her bright red dress, the one that never gets ignored.

And then the unthinkable happened, unthinkable according to the villagers that is. The revered old Bear spirit guardian, the one that is not to be disturbed, enraged or ever even seen by eyes not of his kind, yes that Bear overlooking and safeguarding since times untold, moved out of the shadows where it likes to rest and sniffed the girl, greeting her to his place.

She took a breath and swallowed deep down thoughts of running back when she was shadowed by the humongously big Bear but then she slowly but firmly lift her tiny hands to gently touch the Bear's snout.

 

Silence.

Sun rests above them.

Eyes looking intensely at each other's soul.

There was an ancient bond tying those two, to be "re-"discovered, and it took them a bit but now nothing could stop these unending and mind exploding reactions multiplying within them. At first a sparkle, now an explosion, a moment after a star explodes within their hearts and they instantly know.

They know they go back together a long time and share more than a daring spirit. They know they finally meet, again.

"They say you keep us and the mountain safe" she dares shyly to speak.

"No, not them. Not the mountain. Just you." He answers back.

The headlines for this week!

ell, helloooo there! I'm talking to you live from the central market of the Hide n Seek Town to bring you the latest news from our lively community! :)

I think what you would love to hear first is that the 4th "Annual Huge Pre-Festive Sale" is on at the shop! My, has it been that long since the 1st one? I actually used my fingers to count this one so i can't be wrong! :)

Everything at the shop is reduced by up to 40% so enjoy some low prices for the festive season and happy gift giving!

On further news, i am half way through in the process of actually putting up in the shop my newest creations. And when i say "new", i mean *really* new. I will actually open up a new shop just for them and some of them will find their way into the Hide n Seek Town too. I'm very excited and equally nervous and anxious. Which is what creating new things is all about!

Last bit of news, as you may know (well, if you are a seller that is), Etsy has put up a new advertising system and it has been a bit of a bumpy ride, as new adventures usually are. I have been trying it and it hasn't proven that successful yet. I am actually a bit in the red if we are to trust the statistics. Still a bit too early to say but i will gather more data and stats and come back with my findings.

Ain't no sunshine when it's gone

he greatest of the sunshines are behind us here in the rainy islands and soon the browns of Autumn will start painting the rolling hills outside my window. So while Summer still holds sway over our hearts, we are taking a little break in the town of HidenSeek. Some festivites are to be expected if we manage to wake the townsfolk up, who have indicated that they will be sleeping 23 hours per day.

This Summer has been exceptionally productive and the fruits of my labour will be ripe for the picking at around October, reports say. Until then, i'm off to find a miniature umbrela for my coctail.

Monochrome to Polychrome

n the colourful chaos of the last few years, many of my ideas have been left behind in black and white. I have quite a few artworks in various states of unfinished-ness and it breaks my heart to see the black and grey pencil lines on white paper... alone and lonely scribbles begging for a finishing touch.

"Grrrrrrrrooooooaaaaarrrrlrlrrrlrrrr" - says Mr Bear. A loose translation of his wise words would be "Well i say, old chap, we can have no more of this sort of thing!"

So i'm on a mission of completeness, a mission of finished-ness, a mission of colour and bright brush strokes. I can't make myself move forward with so many ideas that i love still waiting in out-of-fashion black and white. Colour is the new black... (worst pun ever). :)

Even the latest piece "Speak no evil, Hear no evil, See no evil" had been waiting in monochrome drabness for more than half a year. Whatever else could i find in my old sketchbooks, i'm not even sure i know, but it's time to tie up some loose ends. And i have a bucket of colour that is just right for the job.

'm sure most of you know that here at Hide n Seek HQ we like alot the following things (among a list of many others):

For this we always try to send a real treat at your lovely home with every order and include in little surprises or something that will make you remember the day we played together.

Put the 3 together with the mischievous spirit of Mr Bear and you get our special packaging for our Hide n Seek Jewelry and treasures for the heart you can find in the jewelry section of our shop!

*{by the way, to avoid disappointment, we are not always able to use this packaging. Certain tiny jewelry will travel lighter to save you on shipping or when you combine jewelry with many various goodies like prints and larger stuff, you will receive your goodies in our other lovely packaging not this one. We always try to send your goodies the nicest + safest possible way! :) }

 

We haven't shared up until now, ...yes yes, as i said surprises, but almost a year after their launch, our loved Hide n Seek jewelry line has travelled far and wide across the world and the packaging is hardly a surprise anymore.

So here it is! For those that have it or those that will or just the very curious ones :)

Yes,  it's a fairytale book i painstakingly designed until it looked like the real thing! It's called: Tales of The Travelling Bear. It comes tied with a string and sealed with a wax seal to make it even more special for you to open! 

All our jewelry is uniquely packed in little hand-made teabags, i've shared them here for you to see, so you open a fairytale book to find a little teabag, a bit like experiencing a nice relaxed evening of book-time and tea! but i'll leave all the rest of the details out for when you have one in your hands, it's great fun to open! :)

 

So indeed, it is Mr Bear that is bringing your jewels to you afterall! Mr Bear is renowned for his liking of surprises so he has been travelling all around the world in absolute secrecy, carrying your jewelry with him and bringing them to you all along.

So next time honey goes missing in your kitchen, you find scratches on your back wooden porch and the lawn of your garden has huge, strange looking flat patches from place to place, {especially under the shade of trees} you'll know that Mr Bear was around delivering little treasures for your heart!
